Methodology

All Texas lawmakers are rated and ranked on their adherence to the Platform of the Republican Party of Texas (most recently updated and adopted at the 2022 State Convention). A comprehensive and independent analysis was conducted on the legislative session with all key votes showcasing a lawmaker’s alignment or divergence from the platform selected for scoring. Every key vote scored includes both a detailed description of the policy as well as a citation to the exact section of the platform which the key vote pertains to, helping ensure an entirely objective evaluation of each lawmaker. In addition to a lawmaker’s overall platform adherence rating, each lawmaker is graded across each of the 10 sections of the party platform.
